TOCCALMATTO PHASE 1: 2008/2014
Birra Toccalmatto began production in Fidenza, October 2008, with a 550 Litres per batch brewhouse. It’s a dream come true of founder Bruno Carilli who, after serveral experiences as a manager in the food industry, beer included, started cherishing the idea of making craft beer. Driven by the passion for British and Belgian traditional productions, and with the help of some friends, adventure begins.
Forward to late 2014, the name Toccalmatto has come a long way. Always present in the world’s best beer bars taplists and the most prestigious international festivals, we received appreciation and awards in countries with centuries old beer traditions such as England, Belgium and Germany; the request from demanding markets keeps increasing, so much that our old brewhouse, where everything started, is now way too smaller for us. The works for Toccalmatto 2.0 begin.

Passion for live beers
All our beers are top fermented, all naturally conditioned whether it’s in bottles, kegs or casks. This is our way to guarantee freshness, a longer shelf life, and evolving taste.
Beers with attitude
We brew our way or no way at all. Classic styles or innovative beers, Belgian tradition or American inspiration: everyting is made Toccalmatto-style. Extreme and exotic hop flavours, yeast and fermentation experiments, discovering new aromsa using fruits, spices, barrels. It’s all about beers with attitude.
Love for hops
Hop is our staple ingredient, we give it a lot of dedication and research, and never skimp on it. We developed partnerships with the main growers and distributors worldwide, allowing us access to new varieties and origins to experiment with, in order to offer always exciting flavours.
Creativity and innovation
Our passion naturally brings us to experiment with new tecniques, search for new ingredients and share all of this with friends all over the world: this is why we developed our “one-shot” brews! Beers that only happen once, following an inspiration, a precious ingredient or to salute colleagues coming to visit us or inviting us over. Our collaborative brews are a way to share our passion and attitude.
Experience and attention for quality
Years of experience in the food industry allow us to implement a consistent quality control throughout the whole production process. Giving our beers the time they need for fermentation and maturation is extremely important to us.

Time to raise the stakes: new team, new 50HL brewhouse, new look and communication. The new 33cl bottles are finally available, and a barrel aging program is in development, thanks to the support and friendship of winemaker and distilleries both Italian and worldwide… and it’s just the beginning!
